Hi Jo,
Was wondering how things were with you re housing. It seems such a long time since you reported back. Hope that this means that the neighbours are behaving although it would be fantastic news if you have been given a little bungalow.
Also wanted to say thanks for telling us about the Amazon special offer Rockports last year. I sent off for them and they have been great. Only problem is the rear zip but I wear them when I know there will be a helping hand for pulling the zip up and down! Been so nice to wear nice looking boots for a change.

Hiya Eleanor Thanks for your post. The neighbours are still the same, a few things have been sorted, but I was awoken at 4am the other morning with what sounded like domestic violence, she was screaming for him to "effing get off me" and it sounded like he was throwing her round the room. The block and my flat often still stinks of drugs and the music while not as often still is a nuisance. I had a call from the council on Monday, informing me that since they tried to visit them before Christmas (they were in but didn't answer the door) a card was left for them to contact the council, they didn't, the council have sent 3 letters since and they haven't responded to those either. They are going to try another visit, if they get no answer and the neighbours don't get in touch with them they will start the eviction process. I've really had enough of it a long time ago, I'm still logging everything, but my councillor, MP and the department haven't really given any inspiration. Glad you liked the boots!! I have trouble with the zips too, but they're so light and comfortable and such a great bargain :) Hope you're OK Eleanor, and thank you for thinking of me Jo. 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

Dear Jo,
I had hoped that you were moving into a nice bungalow. Keep pushing them and don't give them peace until they move you out which would be easier and cheaper for them than the eviction process.
Keep us updated.

I agree Emily. It is so unfair that Jo is putting up with all this antisocial behaviour.
How are you? Have I been missing you or have you not been around?

Hi Eleanor, it is very unfair, i know how it feels to need another home but unable to find/have one and all the stress and upset it causes so hopefully things will get sorted for Jo very soon.
Im ok thanks, things have been hectic as my mum has been very poorly and we still dont have a firm diagnosis as yet. We seem to be at the hospital most days lately having various tests done. Last week she has had a bone scan and now they are thinking of taking a bone biopsie aswell as more mri scans, it's all happened so quickly really. So much going on and i just feel sad and helpless seeing my poor mum in so much pain. Hopefully things will improve soon. Hope you are well? emilyXXX.

Hi Emily, That's what is the most cause of concern for me as the council HAVE had letters from Clare at NRAS, my rheumatologist and my GP and it's not made the slightest difference, in fact the useless swine who's been "dealing" with the problem once had the nerve to say "you don't look disabled" I refrained from one of my cutting replies and told him that was because of the wonderful work of my GP, rheumatology team and my orthopaedic surgeon and if he had any doubts about my disability he only had to refer to the letters he'd been sent by them all. He didn't like that, and I was quite angry, but having a go with people like that are pointless as he'd just be even less effective than he has been already. It's gone on for about 9 months now, and I really have largely given up any hope of it being sorted. Though i can't wait for my MP to come knocking the door come election time. Hope you're all well and thanks so much for your concern Jo. 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

Hi Jo
I'm sorry nothing has changed for you. I can't imagine what you must be going through right now. It would be bad enough for anyone, but with RA as well it must be a nightmare.
You seem to have done all that you can, your council aren't doing their job at all. I wonder if you could quote the Disability Discrimination Act at them?

Dear JO,
What is your local MP like? Could this be a good time to visit him/her with the election around the corner? Dashed cheek of that council person! Lyn is right: find something to quote from the DDA not that it has much in the way of teeth either!
Emily, I am so sorry that you are also having housing problems. We could do with some good info re this it seems to me. I hope that your mother gets some kind of diagnosis soon as this has been such a long time in being settled for her. Take care,
Eleanor x

Hi Eleanor, My local MP is useless. I'm hoping he'll be gone at the election, fiddled his expenses, and had the nerve to write to me stating that the estate manager had been trying to contact me and if I didn't bother to get in touch with her he couldn't help. The estate manager had made NO attempt to contact me at all, the council office have my home and mobile number, and know where I live, I phoned his office to put the matter straight, saying the council had probably been lying to him the way they have to me for the last 9 months. I've not heard from him since. They've just started upstairs, sounds like furniture being chucked about and the music is on it's like living under a nightclub. There's increasing number of people making their 2 minute visits probably for drugs, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere on that front either, despite having a really supportive sergeant he's stretched to the limit. I really don't know what else to do... I've tried all the official channels and got nowhere. The local media wasn't interested in helping either. Ohh for a lottery win to escape this forsaken place 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

Hi folks, I've made a post on my long neglected blog.. venom and soap box moments aplenty. http://robojo.wordpress.com/
Thanks for all your support, this thing really is doing my head in, and why i'm not as active on here and other forums these days, I've even thought of quitting my NRAS roles as I feel i'm letting them down. I really do feel like giving up sometimes, or just being a hobo and travel around on the trains, as it's far nicer than "home" Jo. 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

Oh Jo,
You are being let down badly not letting others down. Don't give up anything you enjoy for those disgusting people. Is there an option of a private let that would still be covered by the benefits system? What about a letter to Gordon himself underlining the problems that you are having, the lack of support you have been given by the MP and the other local government figures. Ask him for advice. Go for it Jo, what harm can it do? Go for it in a big way and see what happens.
I feel for you. This is awful. I know that you are too young to go for sheltered housing as that would be the best thing to do for a bit of peace and quiet.
I am so sorry my friend.

Have you contacted the local papers yet, Jo? I think maybe this is your next step. You seem to be banging your head against a brick wall talking to any of this b**** useless shower.
MUCH love Jeanxxx

Hi Folks, A wee update for you, Still northing's changed on the ASB front, so I've been in touch with BBC Journalist and local newspaper columnist Adrian Goldberg. Adrian was really supportive of Steph and myself when we fighting the closure of the hydro pool at Selly Oak. I initially posted to his forum.. http://www.thestirrer.co...opic.php?f=1&t=7861
As you can see Pam from the local HLB has offered her support, and I'm meeting with her on Thursday, there have been a number of useful bits and pieces and Adrian emailed me this morning to get in touch with him about my post :) So Hopefully with an even bigger army on my side we can batter the useles Birmingham City council into submission. I'll keep you all posted (now I can get on the forum again) Thanks to everyone :) HUGS Jo. 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

I'm sure I've asked you about this before by head like a sieve..... Do your neighbours have any children? If so then the drug use and domestic violence would definitely be an avenue for social services child protection team. They don't Helly, however these is a couple who are often there (when most of the trouble escalates) who have a baby/small child as I heard it crying yesterday morning about 6.30am. My heart is with the poor wee mite having to breathe that crap in, and have such awful parents :( 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

Had a brief call from Council this afternoon apparently neighbours from hell went to see him today. He'll let me know in detail on Tuesday. As Helly posted on facebook, they've probably peddled them some sob story, and if the council think I'm going to let this drop after having my life made a misry for the last 10 months with them doing nothing they have another thing coming! 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo
